Semaglutide is injected once weekly into the abdomen, thighs or upper arm. We’ll teach you how to administer the shots on your own at home and regularly monitor your weight loss progress. For those covered by insurance for Ozempic, Wegovy, or another semaglutide medication, we dispense the shots right from our office to the patient.
Your treatment plan includes a baseline weigh-in, a prescription for the drug and weight loss coaching to help you reach your goals. The starting dose of semaglutide is typically 0.25 mg, which increases gradually every 4 weeks until a maintenance dose of 2.4 mg is achieved. However, this can be adjusted depending on your needs and tolerance.
